Ground Floor Apartment, Bath
Bath & N.E. Somerset, England
A huge treat to stay in a Georgian townhouse in Georgian Bath, a five-minute stroll from some of the most glorious architecture in Europe and a 12-minute walk from the centre of Bath. The five-storey, Grade I-listed house is on a residential street in an elevated position - views sweep down to the city. What you have here is a very peaceful, very private retreat: a ground-floor apartment that comes with its own charming, walled and landscaped garden (which catches the afternoon sun). Inside are high ceilings and huge sash windows, squishy sofas and pocket-sprung beds, fluffy towels and a flat-screen TV. The beautifully light bedrooms lie at the front, with long views, the sitting room, equally airy, is at the back and the (internal) bathroom is dressed in white. The owners, who live in Devon, use the apartment when they’re in town, so the compact kitchen, smartly contemporary, feels nicely lived-in – there are condiments in the cupboards and the luxury of a real coffee maker. In short, there’s everything here a small group would need for a super-comfortable city stay - and an excellent housekeeper to ensure all is in tip-top order for you arrival. A super apartment at a great price.
