Stay Barn & Wheelers Cottage

Stay Barn & Wheelers Cottage, The Street, Kersey, Ipswich, Suffolk, England

In one of Suffolk's sweetest villages – tiny, with church, dining pub and ancient ford – is a huge, luxurious and listed barn. From the feather and down pillows to the organic toiletries for every guest, all is perfection. Imagine sand-blasted rafters and tall windows for long views, sumptuous check blankets and soft white towels, framed paintings and prints, a cosy wood-burner and logs, and board games and books... Stay Barn feels totally loved and cared for and like a real home (only better), soak it all up but be sure to leave it spic and span. There's a cinema/games room, a huge sitting room and a snug, a beautifully gabled dining room, a hallway with a new stair, a great country kitchen, four super bedrooms, three with bathrooms attached (the fourth, the children's Wild West room, has its shower downstairs), oodles of stylishness and heaps of space. Families, friends, nature-lovers, cooks – who would not love it here? Outside is just as good, with a flagged and furnished terrace overlooking countryside and a lawn fringed with roses and several types of lavender, a brazier-cosy 'circle of friends' and a love seat. And there's Wheeler's Cottage in nearby Naughton, a bijou bolthole with pretty antique copper and brass beds, duvets filled with spun silk and a Victorian knot garden.

Wheelers Cottage (sleeps 3) in Naughton also available.
