Bluebell Croft, Adrnamurchan Peninsular, Strontian, The Highlands, Scotland
Find everything we love most – delicious food, breathtaking views, bracing air, special people, green living – in a windswept croft in the remotest West Highlands. A ferry across Loch Linnhe, a stirring drive along the coast, up a glacial valley, past dreamy Strontian... and up, up to a dramatic hilltop overlooking a tapestry of fields and snow-capped peaks. Your heart will sing as you explore Honeysuckle's open-plan ground floor with natural light on all sides, heaps of wood, log stove, brick chimney and toasty Aga. Awake to birdsong and sunlight in cheery bedrooms with underfloor heating, invigorate achy muscles under powerful showers, soak in what must be Scotland's best-located hot tub gazing at mountains you hiked that day. Sukie (once Rural Chef of the Year) runs Aga cookery courses and rustles up mouthwatering meals with warning, from a simple casserole to a five-course feast. Bill teaches home-smoking using local fish, meat and mussels and they manage their small plot (veg, chickens, pigs, a cow or two) organically; order a seasonal welcome pack. Hard to find Greater Outdoors than this: hiking, kayaking, cycling through woodland, strolling deserted beaches, fishing on lochs. A magnificent setting, a magical place.
Rose Cottage is attached & can be rented separately.
