Just three minutes walk from Covent Garden, the Victorian frontage of this chic top floor apartment survived the Blitz to become observer and arbiter of all that is London hip. Amble past Neal Street's individual clothing and coffee shops and wonderful cheese monger, rubbing shoulders with West End actors out for a quick sandwich; or head for the constant carnival of Covent Garden. An exquisite eye for the minimalist has shaped these snug living quarters into a luminous space of glass, light and style; find a well-stocked modern kitchen, a bright and petite bathroom and a bedroom illumined by one of Mattie's swirling impressions of India. The roof terrace is crazily reached through the skylight at the top of the stairs. Crawl through to survey a behind-the-scenes London, filled with courtyards, chimneys and rooftops. Enticing smells rise from restaurant kitchens and the top of the Opera House emerges impressively to your right. Mattie has been a Londoner for many years and with a daughter in theatre, she has her pulse on all that is cultured as well as gourmet. You can imagine an American describing this as a 'dream' London location and for once not exaggerating.

Surrounded by theatres with the Royal Opera House a few minutes walk away and the Covent Garden Piazza this is literally the heart of the City with Trafalgar Square, and the National and Portrait Galleries round the corner there's no better location.

The area is full of great restaurants as well as famous ones such as the Ivy.
The Monmouth Street Coffee Shop for the best coffee in town. The best cheese shop is also round the corner as well as Neals Yard famous apothecary. There is a Marks and Spencer food hall at the end of the road.
Trafalgar Square is a short walk away as well as the embankment with the Southbank Arts centre, Royal Festival Hall and the National Theatre.
