Enclosed cottage gardens for toddlers, a big lower garden for older ones, and a small private lawned garden with barbecue for each cottage; your hosts have two girls of their own, and goldfish, rabbits, hens... so here are the makings of a perfect family holiday. Tim and Paula are deeply committed to their venture and clearly love doing what they do best. Each cottage is 'Victorian heritage' in style, each delightfully different. The Coach House has a roomy terracotta and blue sitting room (where once the horses stood!) and gas-flame fire, and a charming fresh tiled kitchen to eat in. Applebarn is where the garden produce was stored - now with two roll-top baths and all mod cons. Orchard was home to the housekeeper: a roomy but cosy sitting room with wing-back sofa and open log fire, white-painted brass bed, old mirrored wardrobe, colourful cushions; French windows lead to a private garden with barbecue. The Old Gallery is the newest addition to the stable, sleeps eleven, has wheelchair access, and is stunning. Welcome packs, emergency baskets, central heating, bedlinen, towels, washing machine, tumble dryer, spa, sauna, sunbed and gym: all is included. Ilkley is a woodland walk away - visit Betty's for the best teas in Yorkshire.
