Lower Tregiddle Farmhouse, Lower Tregiddle, Gunwalloe, Helston, Cornwall, England
Blissfully quiet and rural. You drive almost a mile down a private farm track to discover this crisply refurbished granite farmhouse and barns, the main house looking out across its own wildflower meadow to rolling hills, Gunwalloe Church Cove and the sea. The cottagey bedrooms aren't huge but three out of four face south and have window seats for gazing, and brass or pine beds. Tiled modern bathrooms have a beachy feel and locally made soaps. Many will be happy in the huge farmhouse kitchen with its rustic, family-sized table, comfy armchairs, china-packed dresser, and Aga. A small sitting room next door has a Jøtul wood-burning stove and deep sofas; washing and drying machines are tucked away in the utility room. You will be greeted by Karen, the housekeeper, and a food basket of cakes, scones, bread, coffee and locally made apple juice and biscuits. There are four other properties here, all equally delightful, all designed with privacy in mind and all have their own outdoor space. The Farmhouse has its own games room and gardens for bouncy children too. Falmouth, St Ives, beautiful Kynance Cove & the Helford River are close.
